Documenting last Thursday and the weekend because for the first time in… years (since I can’t really remember how long) I had actually done something on the actual day itself - we headed down to Universal Studios Singapore!
It wasn’t exactly intentional to be honest. I had a voucher that admits six pax into the place at a discounted price and it was only valid till the end of May. Clemence and Jotham had mentioned about wanting to organize a date to head down to the theme park together. I’m off work every year on 2 May because it just seems legit to not work on your birthday and I wouldn’t be getting another off in the same month just to head down so, why not make it on the same day? Most of my friends could make it anyway, except for Greg who just returned from a 10-day trip not too long ago.
We stayed there from opening hours to end and I guess none of our aging bodies could handle the amount of fatigue after that cuz we were all basically stoning at work/camp the following day and just waiting for the last work day of the week to be over.
Getting too old for this shit.
Wish I could like, haul some group pictures up on here but none of us had the mind to actually take one except for Jotham (simply because the lad’s gotten the new iPhone) and they have not appeared on any social platform since so I guess they will remain hidden in his phone’s gallery forever.
I exaggerate.
And then come Saturday, Malcolm carried out his surprise plan - which I found out by accident one or two weeks ago but kept mum about - by waking me up at an unearthly 9.45am for a reservation he made. Bugger was telling me to sleep early/together so we can go for breakfast or something the night before (at 2am actually) and I’d thought the plan was off and he was just saying it (cuz he does that pretty often) since we’d already gone to USS and did not take him too seriously. And so… we embarked on a journey from the east to town and I finally revealed my knowledge of his plan. Didn’t think the rest were gonna show up (refers to aforementioned trip to USS) until Clemence rolled up in a cab right at the moment when we reached the entrance.

The awesome boyfriend played host and we had a great feasting (DO NOT MISS OUT THE CRAB PINCERS IF YOU EVER HEAD DOWN FOR LUNCH AT CAROUSEL!!!!). Left the place fully gratified and a few pounds heavier. Then came an impromptu haircut with Clemence and my hair now is five inches shorter.
“Doesn’t make sense if we just celebrated alone having buffet by ourselves right? Where’s the fun in that? It’s better to have your friends around to celebrate together.”
TT 3 TT Exploded with bliss all over again when I recalled what he told me. Thank you bubz for being the awesome, loving and generous person that you are. I am truly undeserving of how you always try to make me feel special and the amount of affection you pour over me every single day. Also, thank you guys for being so accommodating to wake up early on a Saturday especially when you’ve all had late nights (Clemence had work on Friday till late; Jotham was on duty and only booked out that morning and Greg was out till 7am and didn’t manage to sleep since)!
And of course, thank you to all who had wished me well via the many different channels and those who met up with me for dinner in advance. Much love to you guys too!!!
